Uplift recognises everyone has a valuable contribution to make and support individuals at all levels to unlock their potential. Our programmes bring together a range of complementary activities, encouraging local people to gain better qualifications and skills to enable them to benefit from a stronger economy.
The programmes will benefit Sunderland-based businesses by improving knowledge and behaviours, contributing to Sunderland’s economic growth, supporting participants to develop skills and help them gain, retain and progress at work.
Activities include:
- Digital workshops- offering training in online safety and fundamental digital skills, with a focus on Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Topics covered include essential online safety practices like Social Media Awareness, Cyberbullying Prevention, Password Security, and Data Privacy.
- Health and wellbeing toolkits- offers tailored support for individuals in employment who are not currently supported by mainstream provisions for accessing education and training courses. Examples of these courses include workplace menopause awareness, mood management, stress reduction, and a confidence and mindset toolkit, all thoughtfully designed to cater to the specific needs of the workforce. Through this programme, participants are empowered to progress in their personal and work lives by overcoming barriers to achieve their goals, fostering continuous personal development, and engaging in positive activities including further learning and upskilling.
- ESOL Engagement- this programme will aim to boost confidence among individuals where English is not their first language, taking initial steps towards formal literacy qualifications. Courses are designed to engage learners with relatable contexts and facilitate progression, targeting adults with low/no skills and those facing barriers to learning or employment.
